5 Games That Left Me Wanting More

In my personal opinion.

With so many gems in the gaming world, it can be hard to keep up with the best and worst of them. But here are five games that left us wanting more. Whether it left us wanting more about the story or the backstory of their world or something more with the games or is crying out for a sequel, here are my five personal picks.

This cute little arcade classic mixes puzzle beating blocks with mild elements of RPG. There are 12 magic stones and each of them represents a birthstone. The objective is to collect all 12 stones to make your wish come true.

It's a simple and addicting game with some interesting characters. Even though there aren't many characters in this game, it manages to fill in whole families and a few couples in. The Gameboy version offers more story, but I still want to know more about the characters such as how they obtained the stones.

One thing that confused me is that Peridot, who is meant to be Sapphire and Thyst's mother, is only 26. Sapphire is 19, and Thyst is 13. There's room for some theories and explanation here.

The success of Street Fighter was the birth of many fighting and beat 'em up games. This was one of the games that game out as a result. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world with a survival of the fittest vision.

A war has broken out which has caused massive destruction and the rise of a corrupt fighting king. So they hold a tournament to see who will be the next to challenge, Jado, the mysterious fighting king and his guards. The game has four playable characters and the English version removed many things like dialogue and blood-stained faces.

This, in my point of view, is a disadvantage because we lose the backstory of the characters and makes us care for them less. The soundtrack is exceptional, and I would have liked to have known more about this world and it would have been nice to see the dialogues and the true endings translated. The roster is small, but the characters are well designed and quirky.

Gainax, the famous production house behind Neon Genesis: Evangelion also produced a very successful string of games in the unique genre that was known as childcare stimulation. Out of all of the five games, Princess Maker 2 is hands down the best one with a gripping storyline, plenty of paths and endings available and wonderful elements of RPG.

The story goes like this: you're a retired knight who has defeated a demon king. The king of the kingdom rewards you with a yearly salary and a nice home. The gods bestow you a young girl from the heavens which you are to raise until her 18th birthday. Her default name is Olive Oyl, but you can name her whatever you want.

The game ends on her 18th birthday once she's chosen a husband and a career for herself. The game gave me so many ideas for stories that it made me want to know how Olive got on with her life. I also think it's bad-ass that she can marry a dragon.

The NES classic features the lovable duo known as Nana and Popo. Ice Climber is a catchy vertical platform game that rose back into fame when Ice Climbers were playable characters in Super Smash Brothers Melee. I can still remember the bitter disappointment in fans when the Ice Climbers were cut from the fourth edition from the Super Smash Brother games; myself included. (Although the edition of Bayonetta made up for it in my opinion.)

To cut the long story short, the Ice Climber game deserves it's own sequel and not just a reboot of the old game. Nana and Popo are lovable characters, yet we still know very little about them. I still can't tell if they're twins, lovers or friends? Maybe it's best left to our imagination.

In my opinion this is a criminally underrated game made by the same people behind Kingdom Hearts. It's an urban fantasy with plenty of action and roleplay elements. The story has plenty of twists and the characters are entertaining. The gameplay is unique and I can't think of any of game like this. With it's glowing reviews, catchy tunes and interesting characters and gameplay, I'm surprised that this game hasn't got a sequel: the game deserves it!
