5 Reasons Why 'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' Is So Popular

While it's not even a full game?!

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds or "Pubg", as it is so commonly referred to by its millions of players, has recently been the talk of the town amongst the gaming world. Reaching an incredible player count of over 1.3 million at one time, this unfinished game has so many people vying for that chicken dinner end screen and many more looking on in anticipation.

"Hold up, did you just say unfinished?"

I certainly did!

"Then how in the blue hell is it so popular already?!"

Trust me, I get it. You're just a bit confused, much like that time you saw that really hot girl kissing that super nerdy dude on that one show. Wonder no longer, my friends, for I am here to enlighten you with my top reasons why I believe this game is better than the bee's knees amongst the human race.

1. Skydiving

For those that haven't been introduced to the game yet, Pubg starts you off with up to 100 other players in an airplane flying over this massive island. You pick your spot on this land mass to drop then hurl yourself into the open air...with a parachute of course. I mean I may as well stop the list on this one right? Whether you're scared of heights or not, you have to admit skydiving is pretty darn awesome. Granted Pubg isn't the first game to do something like this, so how about we DIVE deeper into this, shall we?

2. Guns, and Armor, and Pans, OH MY!

The glorious loot below you is the key to your survival. The second you touch down to the surface it's like you're off to the races. Scrambling through houses, factories, and restaurants trying to loot up and find a gun just in case someone else has landed next to you and is doing the same. Just promise me, if you find a frying pan, pick it up. At this point, it's fight or flight. The struggle for your life has begun and you may not have been dealt a fortunate hand of loot this time around but always remember to keep calm because frying pans save lives.

3. Vehicles and a Circle of Death

Now that you've made it this far and you're still alive, it's time to figure out if you need faster transportation. It's quite a large island you're on and you can't forget there is an encroaching zone of death that could very well be on your tail. Sparsely strewn throughout the island is a variety of vehicles you can utilize to your advantage. The big problem there is, IF you're fortunate enough to find one and you decide to get in that bad boy to ride off into the sunset, others nearby will be alerted of your location. Vehicles are loud, man. What can I say?

4. Realism

Now with most of the gameplay and jokes aside, I'd like to get a little serious here because we're coming up on the final reasons why I think this game is so insanely popular. A big one is the feeling you get while you're experiencing all of what we've just gone through. The realism. There is an undeniable rush that you get while playing this game. The feeling that your character could perish at any moment. And the guns, they feel like they have some real weight to them as you aim. Not to mention this unfinished game even boasts a bullet drop mechanic that is unlike any I have ever seen. All of it together just keeps you going back on that plane for more.

5. Unfinished Polish

Yes, this game has something that I like to call unfinished polish. Some aspects of the game like the vehicles, for example, have some laughable physics, yet that seems to be just another reason to play for many people--because it's fun. Other aspects, like the guns, the different possible weather effects for each map you spawn in, and the intensity of survival all for that dish of savory poultry make this game one popular son of a gun.
