'Deltarune' *SPOILERS*

What could it mean?

I'm sure by now you've all heard about Toby Fox releasing Deltarune on Halloween. How perfect could that be? That creepy ending had me hyped for the night! As we see the characters have grown up and many have had children. We notice Alphys, Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Catty, Bratty, and Undyne are all still around. Though we don't see them we get hints of Asriel and Papyrus. We are graced with some new characters such as Kris and Susie. But I think we all have the same questions. Where is Frisk? Did Chara return? What will happen with the dark fountains? How is the Delta symbol in both the underground shown in Undertale as well as the Dark World of Deltarune? The Undertale Twitter page said it was far from finished so just how big is the game going to be?

Let's start with the fountains. Before Kris and Susie enter the closet we notice a familiar glow coming from the door. Or am I the only one who thought of the barrier? The history between the Darkners and Lightners is really similar to the history between Monsters and Humans. We notice that the Delta symbol is the same one from Undertale. We also see the door from Sans' room throughout the Dark World. Sans mentioned that he was new to town, so I believe he has been to the Dark World. The characters mentioned that the door was new and they were improving it. What if Sans was helping them with that?

The Big Question

Moving on we've got the big question. Where is Frisk??? (I'll try to keep this gender neutral but sorry if I mess up) Frisk is the lovable main character that we play as throughout the Underground during the first game. They befriend all the monsters, defeats Flowey, and brings everyone to the surface. Frisk is the biggest character of the game so they can't just be excluded! When we look to the end credits of the console version we see Toriel tucking Frisk into bed. Since Frisk was the same age as Asriel, I believe she could be off to college or maybe living her own life. They possibly could have even went with Sans when they were old enough and be with Papyrus at the end of Deltarune. This is full of possibilities!

The symbol itself was found extensively through Undertale. When asking Gerson what it means he says that it predates time and the meaning was lost. He also stated that the triangles below represented the monsters and the circle was fabled to represent an angel to save them from the underground. I used to think that predating time merely meant it was before the barrier was created. However, now I have a new theory. The symbol was created by the Darkners and Lightners to represent the sun and moon protecting those below. Instead of representing monsters, the three triangles represent humans, Darkners/Lightners, and Monsters.

Last Scene

Looking at the very last scene in Deltarune we see something possess Kris. We've got the knife, the famous red color, and the red eyes that are all Chara's traits. We also see Kris' soul cold-heartedly (pun intended) get ripped out and thrown in a cage which is definitely something Chara would do. However, what if there's more this time? Could the city they live in be Chara's old village? If so, what other unspeakable horrors could have happened there to possibly create another bloodthirsty entity?

Toby has definitely got the entire Undertale fanbase hooked with this one! I can't wait to hear the thoughts of other fans and see the full release!
