Welcome back to the "Why Not Do These?" series. The suggestion of this article is video games that should be tried and sequel ideas for games that already exist.

Let's begin, shall we?

'Mafia 4'

Source

There is a sequel in the works, but it won't be released unfortunately until 2020. Despite such a delay, there are a few ideas I wish to share with fans of the series or even the company that makes the game.

Triad theme: I know there are a lot of Hong Kong movies that focus on this, even in the modern day. The sequel does not have to take place in modern day Hong Kong. It could take place near the end of the Qing Dynasty, after the fall or even during the Japanese occupation.

Yakuza theme: I am well aware of the Yakuza series and that is now officially over with. The Mafia 4 game once again does not have to take place in more modern times. It could take place during the Edo period (1603-1868), the Meiji Era (1868-1912), or sometime in Post-WWII Japan.

Victorian Gangland: Being a fan of Assassins Creed and having played Syndicate, I always wondered what if there was another game like Syndicate, but without the war between secret societies. If the people behind the Mafia series did something like this, it would prove rather interesting.

'Alien vs. Predator vs. Colonial Marine vs. Whoever'

Source

The Alien vs. Predator series has been around for a while and has spawned several games on computer and game consoles—not to mention the awful movies. So, therefore, why not have two of the deadliest aliens in the galaxy make an appearance in the DC comics universe? They have made their appearances in DC comics, but not DC-based games.

Also, there has never been a backstory about who and how the Colonial Marines came to be. So why not a video game about them before the Aliens and the Predator? I for one would like to them go up against the Engineers or even a follow up of the arcade version of Alien vs. Predator by Capcom back in 1994.

'Aquaman'

Source

With the success of the movie and the Batman Arkham series, why not have the biracial king of Atlantis be given his own video game? It would be interesting if the game played out like Arkham,or if it had a different theme where certain parts of the world under the sea are hidden and various missions carried out can unlock them.

Anime Fighters Smash-Up?

Source

The idea of mixing up all the fighters and martial arts experts from various anime does sound appealing, doesn't it? Like Makunouchi Ippo going up against Maya Natsume, or Kenshiro going up against Yang Xiao Long—not to mention Suguru Kinniku against Tiger Mask. There are many other fighting dudes and hotties that come from anime. The point is that many of these characters don't need weapons to win a fight and it would give anime fans like myself a chance to see who can pwn who.

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'

Source

The series may be ending on TV, but that doesn't justify ending the series as a whole. How many of you ever wanted to play as an agent of the famous spy organization? Or even have the luxury of playing as its famous members like Maria Hill, Agent Coulson, or even Nick Fury himself? Playing as Daisy "Skye" Johnson, AKA Quake, would certainly prove interesting. How the game would play out is the question though.

'The Wild Wild West'

Source

I am talking about the the original series as seen above and not the terrible 90s film. There was a computer game of the series released, but it received virtually no attention. The game could play like the Red Dead Redemption series, but have the steampunk theme of the series and gadgets used by Jim West against the evil Dr. Loveless and whatever scheme he may be up to. The fact that Jim West is a ladies man could inspire the game to have a mature rating, but that is up for debate. What really matters is preserving this gemstone of TV history and promoting more western steampunk.
