For years fans of the hit game series Uncharted have been waiting for a live action film to get on track for years, but it has been tough going until this week. We recently heard news that Joe Carnahan has completed a script for the film, so it seems that this film is well on its way to the big screen.

Naturally all my attention is now turned to who will play the titular character Nathan Drake. Personally I believe I'd make a decent casting choice:

That Nerf gun doe!

Hell has yet to freeze over yet though, so I'm probably out of luck. But, I do think I have a lot of worthy - and realistic - candidates that we would do the role extreme justice.

What I looked for were actors who can play a badass explorer that dabbles in the outlaw lifestyle. He acts in a selfish nature, but actually contains a great deal of humanity; an actor with a wide range is needed to reach all these emotions.

I excluded some actors who are frequently brought up like Gerard Butler, Bradley Cooper, and Nathan Fillion due to age, but they would all make great Nathan Drake's. I believe these 10 actors will do just fine however.

10. Liam Hemsworth

Hemsworth has been trying to find a career defining role like his older brother Chris has with Thor. He shows just as much talent as any actor in his age range even though he sat backseat to Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson in The Hunger Games.

His chiseled features make for the good looking Nathan Drake and provide a good name to lead the film, but his ability to be a leading man is still in question. He was given his opportunity in the sequel to the alien invasion franchise Independence Day: Resurgence and while he was by no means the reason the film under performed, he was still not enough to keep it from the bottom of the box office.

9. Jack Reynor

Reynor is on the verge of making a big name for himself, and is tailor made to be an action star. His strong cocky nature almost made him the next Han Solo and is something that would aid him in an audition for Nathan Drake.

Like Hemsworth, his ability to lead a film is unproven, but he has a strong screen presence even from a budding career. His personality fits the character, and he has the room to grow with the character being relatively unknown.

8. Matt Bomer

The idea of Bomer came to me kind of late when I was making this list. I debated whether to put him on here, because while he has the chiseled look it is more pretty boy than the grizzly rogue.

His role in the show White Collar and Magic Mike are far from what someone like Nathan Drake would be. Bomer is a solid actor though that deserves a chance to widen his range.

7. Ryan Guzman

An unknown name who strikes a strong resemblance to Nathan Drake. His acting credits are short, but in Beyond Paradise he was a strong lead and a scene stealer in Jem and The Holograms.

I personally believe there are many better names for this role, but Guzman's look as well as potential make me believe he can pull it off. Much like Matt Bomer though, all his roles have him playing more of the pretty boy than the rugged Nathan Drake.

6. Taron Egerton

Who doesn't love Taron Egerton? He made us laugh in Kingsman: The Secret Service as well as show off his talents for action and adventure roles, but also showed us how far his range can reach when he inspired us in Eddie the Eagle.

He can play the cocky side of Drake while also being able to pull off the more comical side. Egerton is one of the rare talents in Hollywood that is able to lead a film at a young age and commands the screen easily.

5. Oscar Isaac

This is a race change with Isaac being of Guatemalan decent, but one that I think is fair. Isaac actually bares resemblance to Drake and might be the strongest actor on this list. Who cares if he's white or not honestly? I only worry about having an actor who can carry the load of a film and do the character justice.

Isaac's character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Poe Dameron's personality mirrors Drake's to an extant with his cocky and confident attitude. He such a large star now and seems to be getting auditioned for any major role, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's brought on board for this franchise.

4. Chris Evans

It's weird for me putting Chris Evans on a casting list, with him being such a major figure in Marvel as Captain America, there really just aren't many openings for someone with Evans' schedule to join another major franchise. If rumors of Captain America's death in the upcoming Infinity War movie is true, then maybe he'll have an opening.

Evans has a much wider acting range than I think most people even realize, he's played a large range of characters from the arrogant Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World or of course the selfless hero Captain America. I have no doubt that he could play Nathan Drake admirably, but whether he'd want to join another franchise is the only question.

3. Tyler Hoechlin

A big name now after bringing Superman back to the small screen, and in my opinion becoming one of the best Clark Kents yet. He won the hearts of many other fans and i'm sure will have many movie franchises coming after him now.

Hoechlin played arrogance in Everybody Wants Some!, played an outlaw type in Teen Wolf, and showed a selfless nature as Superman. All three of these qualities are found in Nathan Drake. I'm sure Hoechlin will be able to lead a franchise after watching him for years and the way his career is rising, it's only a matter of time before he is cast in a major franchise like this.

2. Scott Eastwood

Another rising star that is destined to end up in his own franchise before too long. He is one actor whose name is brought up frequently in fan castings for Drake. His resemblance to the character is obvious and this movie would place Scott into a franchise similar to that of what is father Clint was best known for.

We were let down by his minor role in Suicide Squad, but that along with his role in Fury show he can pull off the more rugged character and The Longest Ride brought us a more compassionate character. I honestly had a hard time thinking of someone better than Eastwood, but the next actor blows all the others away in my opinion.

1. Charlie Hunnam

Hunnam is known for playing the outlaw anti-hero Jax Teller on Sons of Anarchy. His role in that means he is qualified to play any badass role in Hollywood as far as I'm concerned. Jax Teller in a sense can be compared to Nathan Drake. He's a criminal with a cocky sense of pride that leads him into trouble, at his core though, he is a good man trying to do the right thing. Nathan Drake in a nutshell right?

Most people might see Hunnam's blonde hair and be quick to say no, but I consider that well...dumb, for the same reasons I think anyone who would write Oscar Isaac off due to his ethnicity is being silly. Hunnam is the best fit for the role in my opinion despite him not looking like Drake. Fans get too into making sure an actor or actress looks like the character they're portraying and not enough about their actual acting ability.

I hope that Hunnam gets his chance at a major film franchise soon, maybe it'll be in the form of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.
