PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is a game that hasn't just been getting a lot of coverage. It's a game that has been receiving an astounding amount of love from players, developers, and media outlets alike. Right now it is one of the most played games in the world and will soon be launching on consoles with an Xbox One exclusive release. But that's not what's got fans excited this time.

Bluehole has announced that their upcoming update for #PUBG will feature a major new mechanic: Fog. Yes, you read that right! Those lush environments you are used to seeing will be getting a nice dose of mist.

Bluehole released a few pictures from the upcoming foggy weather update, which seemed to display just how beautiful their graphics engine actually is.

As you can see, the fog mechanic will impact your vision in forests, fields, and city streets.

Bluehole also announced that players taking part in this all-out battle royale will have a chance to get their hands on a new weapon, as previously stated: the Mini-14 rifle. Just like any gun you pick up in the field, you'll need to find additional modifications for the gun during your matches. This includes attachments ranging from scopes, to stocks, to even barrels in order to help with sight and recoil.

Bluehole also has announced that leaderboards will be available for fans playing on the first-person-view-only game mode. This will allow you to test the waters and see who has the best aim, kill count, and overall ability to survive compared to players from around the world, which includes your own friends.
